Donation to We Love Manchester

By 15th November 2018 January 3rd, 2019 Mylo Kaye

I’d like to confirm that I have sent the full amount of the funds I raised for the benefit of the victims and families of the Manchester Arena bomb to We love Manchester.

The amount raised was made possible through the immense generosity of people responding to a tragic event in our great city.

In hindsight, I can totally understand some of the commentary on social media, concerned that after such a long delay would the funds ever get to the intended recipients, and that some doubt has been cast on my motives. Given the lack of communication about this, this should not have come as a shock to me, and as may be appreciated, this has been a very humbling experience, and one which I have learned a great deal from. I am sorry for my delay in taking action or communicating effectively. I realise that my reputation has taken a hit in some quarters, and it’s up to me to turn this around through what I do now.

Building a worthwhile charity which makes a difference, helping those in dire poverty remains my focus and I remain determined to make this happen

As I said in yesterday’s statement, I had always intended to make donations through Pledge to  victims and their families, but, having reflected, and taken note of feedback and the strength of feeling on this, the quickest and most effective way to do this is through the We love Manchester fund.

The total raised was £7336. Once JustGiving’s fee for managing the donations had been deducted, the total was £6873.53. This amount has been sat in a designated account and been left untouched. In the circumstances, it seems only right that I personally make up the difference, and therefore the total amount of £7336 has been sent to I love Manchester today November 15th 2018.

Please see the link as follows, where the donation will show in due course:

The positive I can take from this situation is that it has made me more passionate than ever about making a difference in Manchester, for the people who need it most through the work I do with Pledge.
